Dear Family, Friends, OCTA Friends, and Supporters of the Trail,

Sutter's Fort 1846 WagonWe would like to invite all of you to see the new 1846 replicated wagon on display at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park on July 10, 2004 between 2 and 4:30 pm.

We will be doing several things that day. Before the Fort opens Frank will be giving an in-service training for the Park Interpreter Specialists on the wagon.

At 10:00 am when the park opens Frank will be giving another in-service training to the park Docents.

Sutter's Fort 1846 WagonThe general public will be welcome to observe this training.

We will not be doing the interpretation between noon and 2.

From 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm Frank will be doing interpretation of the wagon to all who choose to attend that special day.

Of course, you are welcome to come any time during the day.

Sutter's Fort 1846 WagonOver the past several months we have been sharing with many of you the photos of the wagon being constructed.

I have seen lots of wagons on display over the past 25 years but this is the first replicated wagon, I know of, that has been custom built to fit the 1846 era.

Sutter's Fort 1846 WagonPlease, come and join us to celebrate the culmination of a six year study. The Fort presents their Summer Season History Alive! Program daily. You can visit with perhaps an Administrator, Emigrant, Black Smith, Military person, Trapper, and/or Farmer to learn their roles at the 1846 Fort. The State Indian Museum is on the same area. The Governor’s Mansion’s is also a lovely site to visit.
