Ruby Johnson Swartzlow expanded on this article and wrote "Peter Lassen his Life & Legacy". in 1964 and was revised in 1982. 75pp

Hutchings California Magazine gives a brief bio of Lassen in their Sept. 1859 edition.

Farris & Smith's 1882 "History of Plumas,Lassen & Sierra Counties" gives a brief bio on Lassen.

J.M. Guinn in his 1906 book "The Sierras" does a 3 page bio on Lassen.

Fairfields Pioneer History of California (1916)would devote 60+ pages to Lassen and his trail.

George Kirov published a small book about Lassen in the 1930s.

In 1937 T Vogel-Jorgensen published "Peter Lassen of Califronia" 216pp.

Read and Gaines work has already been mentioned.
