One of the chapter's monitoring projects is the Fernley Swales in northwest Nevada, the only example of Deep Sand Swales on the California Trail.
Fernley Community Leaders, the BLM and members of the CA-NV Chapter of OCTA frequently organize a cleanup party to remove trash that has been dumped in and near the Swales. Contact Tom Fee at TomFee3@aol.com if you would like to help out with these clean-up outings.
